Nos prochains stages du 1er au 5 juillet et du 8 au 12 juillet 2024, de 9h/17h, pour les 3/6 ans et les 6/11 ans
Du 1er au 5 juillet / de 6 à 11 ans : Leaving for Brazil
Before we say goodbye for the summer, we’ll be taking a little trip together. This week will be all about travelling – everything from what happens when you forget your passport to how to prepare for a big departure. All of this will come together in a comedic play put on by the children at the end of the week.
Our days start calm and focused with an hour of yoga – practicing postures, breath and balance. In theatre the focus is on mime and clown performances. The afternoons continue with a focus on physicality, rhythm and music as the children learn Capoeira.
In preparation for the play, we’ll be creating props and costumes in the late afternoons. The children make these items from scratch, focusing on autonomy and creation and the pleasure of seeing a project come together from beginning to end. At the end of our week together, we share our creation with the younger students by putting on the play for them. Even though parents aren’t allowed on the day of the performance, we aways make sure to video it so you can see their proud work!
Please bring comfortable trousers or shorts so your children can enjoy their yoga and capoeira classes without any trouble.
Du 8 au 12 juillet / de 6 à 11 ans : Rio Carnival
For this second week of summer, we’ll finally be arriving in Rio, and right in time for the Carnival! Join us for a week full of colour, texture, movement and song. Throughout the week, the children will be learning chants and dances from the beautiful and sophisticated martial art, capoeira.
Our days start calm and focused with an hour of yoga – practicing postures, breath and balance. Inspired by a local tradition of theatre from the streets of Rio, the play we’ll be putting on at the end of the week will be mime-based, sparkly and colourful.
In preparation for the play, our focus will be on explosive colour combinations, feathers, jewels and everything that will bring the carnival to us here in Paris.

STAGES ANGLOPHONES AVRIL 2024
Pour les élèves du CP au CM2, du 8 au 12 avril 2024, de 9h à 17h.
Charlie Chaplin
Continuing with the theme of cinema we’ll be delving into the wonderful works of Charlie Chaplin, a master of early cinema. His movies are a joy to children and adults alike. Over the course of the week we’ll be learning about cinema sets. Who works there and what do they do? We’ll be making costumes for the film, our very own clapper boards and props. Meanwhile Marie will be designating roles – directors, cinematographers, costume designers, makeup artists, actors and all! By the end of the week we will once more perform our final product for the younger children, delving into our very own popcorn holders (made in class) to enjoy the show.

Indian Week
Indian theatre is one of the most ancient forms of theatre and its vivid colours and masks are what makes it truly magical. Kathakali, a kind of story-telling dance, will be the focus of this workshop. The actors traditionally wear large, elaborate masks and headgear, which the kids will be making with papier-marche and paint. They will then express themselves behind these masks, losing themselves to the beautiful Kathakali dance movements together with Marie. To go into a bit more detail, mornings will start with yoga, learning mudras and postures individually or in groups. Then in the afternoons children will explore India through craft-making with art-teacher Leah. The headgear we will be making are a big part of Kathalki theater and a way in which the children can explore papier-mâché, paint and jewels. This will be an ongoing project throughout the week. In Kathalki theater, the actors communicate through shawls and metal plates, a unique form of communication they will be exploring further with Marie once we have made these shawls ourselves. We will also explore Diwali and the Hindu deities through smaller drawing-based workshops later in the week, a calm activity that will hopefully inspire the children before their theatrical performance on Friday afternoon
